When you leave a comment on our website, the data entered in the comment form, but also your IP address and the user agent of your browser are collected to help us detect unwanted comments.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be sent to the Gravatar service to verify your use of the service. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After validation of your comment, your profile picture will be publicly visible next to your comment.
If you are a registered user and you upload images to the website, we advise you to avoid uploading images that contain EXIF data of GPS coordinates. Visitors to your website can download and extract location data from these images.
Via our contact form, we collect your name and email address as well as IP address in order to detect spam via the Akismet application. The same process is used as for comments as mentioned above.
If you leave a comment on our site, you will be asked to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is only for your convenience so that you do not have to enter this information if you leave another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.
If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

We use google analytics and Jetpack to analyze the audience and user behavior of our blog. Google analytics uses a cookie to collect data about the behavior of visitors and where they come from. This data is anonymized and we do not do any individual targeting for marketing purposes.
The personal data collected on our site are only used for the detection of undesirable messages, for statistics and for the subscription to our newsletter (via a specific form which only collects your email address).

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This allows subsequent comments to be automatically recognized and approved instead of being left in the moderation queue.
For users who register on our site (if possible), we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (with the exception of their username). Site managers can also view and modify this information.
If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you may request to receive a file containing all the personal data we have about you, including the data you have provided to us. You may also request the deletion of your personal data. This does not include data stored for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Visitor comments can be checked with an automated comment detection service.
